The new requirements for buildings energy performance, as provided for by DGR 1366/2011 regarding the use of renewable energy sources, will come into force on May 31st.
Indeed, from that date, it will be necessary to ensure not only 50% FER coverage of the energy needed to produce domestic hot water but also 35% of the total thermal energy consumption of the building (for residential uses consisting of the sum of consumption for winter air conditioning and hot water production). This share will rise to 50% from 1 January 2015.
